Materials
All materials used to make our cat pens have been selected to provide an enclosure that is long-lasting, relatively light weight and easily cleaned and disinfected. The frames are UV-stabilised and the mesh and fastenings are rust-resistant so Penthouse Pens can be used indoors or out.
Penthouse Pens are made from black or white tubular UPVC. We make all of our injection-moulded fittings on-site using engineering-grade plastics and these also come in black or white. You can have an entirely white or entirely black cat pen or, for example, a white frame with black fittings or a black frame with white fittings.
If you want to get technical, the silver-coloured mesh covering the frame is 14-gauge hot dip galvanised twillweld of 25 mm x 38 mm (1″ x 1.5″). The fastenings are glass-reinforced plastic clamps with stainless steel machine screws.
Our floors are oatmeal-coloured and made from 4.5mm (3/16″) thick, UV-stabilised polypropylene that is smooth on one side and lightly embossed on the other for better grip. All Penthouse Pens are supplied with floors except The Domain that is designed to sit directly on the ground.
